Buttock Augmentation Surgery, also called a Brazilian Butt Lift, is a cosmetic procedure that enhances and reshapes the buttocks. The procedure is performed either by transferring fat or inserting butt implants in the gluteal area. It takes around two to three hours to complete and is performed under either general or local anesthesia.
The surgery results in a more shapely and fuller buttock area, which creates a better silhouette and a more youthful appearance.
There are two main ways buttock augmentation is performed: autologous fat transfer and gluteal implant surgery. The first type takes fat from one area of your body (usually the hips, back, stomach, or thighs) and injects it to your buttocks using syringes connected to cannulas. The second type is done by inserting a soft silicone implant in an incision on the buttock crease. The first is more effective for people with sagging buttocks, whereas the second is for those with flat or poorly defined buttocks.
The type of procedure performed will depend on your surgeon’s recommendations. Each procedure is different and should be tailored specifically to each client.

Recovery from buttock augmentation surgery takes roughly eight weeks. You will not be allowed to sit down for about 10 days except for going to the toilet (while a pillow is placed underneath you). You will be asked to avoid sitting and physical activities for up to 8 weeks after the surgery.
You should make sure that your surgeon is board-certified and experienced in performing the procedure. It is good to approach your surgery cautiously and consciously.
Today, there is an unsafe variation of buttock augmentation done by injecting silicone in the buttock area. This procedure is very unsafe and is usually performed by unlicensed and uncertified practitioners. We advise you to stick only to reputable clinics and board-certified surgeons.
