Ear Pinning Otoplasty

Going through an ear pinning surgery, also known as an otoplasty, can give you sleeker and better-looking ears that are more proportionate to your head. This cosmetic procedure was designed to refine and enhance the position, proportion, and shape of your ears. The surgery is relatively safe as it can be done to children—even as early as five years old—and adults. The surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on your needs.

You Are A Good Candidate For Ear Pinning Surgery If:

  • You have no life-threatening conditions
  • You have “cupped” or “cauliflower” ears
  • You are not happy with the shape and size of your ears
  • Your ears are not proportionate to your head and face
  • Your ears are protruding or drooping

As a general protocol, we advise that you consult any of our surgeons before your procedure. They will be able to guide you through the procedure and advise you based on your goals and your medical data. You can rest assured that all our surgeons are board-certified and have gone through substantial surgical training.

Otoplasty begins by your surgeon making an incision behind your ear. Any excess cartilage and/or skin is removed, while your ears are being reshaped. The surgery will usually last anywhere from one to three hours.
